About Us
Sirumalai Evergreen Multipurpose Community Development Society (SIMCODESS) is a nonprofit organization based in Vellodu, Tamil Nadu, dedicated to empowering vulnerable communities through sustainable agricultural practices
and women’s empowerment.
Since 1990, we have worked tirelessly to support
small-scale farmers, women, and children, focusing
on organic farming, environmental conservation, and educational initiatives.
Our commitment is to blend traditional knowledge with modern techniques, helping communities build resilient, eco-friendly livelihoods.
By promoting organic farming and sustainable land use,
we contribute to preserving local biodiversity, ensuring that ecosystems remain balanced while also improving the quality of life for rural populations.
Over the past 34 years, we’ve uplifted marginalized groups by providing them with the tools, training, and resources needed to thrive. From protecting the green cover of Sirumalai Hills to fighting child labor and supporting women’s economic independence, we strive to create long-lasting change.
OUR VISION
We envision a future where women and children live with dignity, supported by sustainable practices and eco-friendly communities. In this future, local ecosystems and biodiversity are safeguarded, ensuring that both people and nature can thrive in harmony.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to promote sustainable agriculture, conserve the natural environment, and protect vulnerable women and children from exploitation and abuse. By fostering organic farming practices that support biodiversity, we aim to build self-sufficient communities where environmental protection and economic growth are interconnected. Addressing child labor, gender inequality, and rural development, we work towards creating opportunities for all while maintaining the balance of local ecosystems.
